Vetting
One of the most valuable assets to any company is its staff however, conversely history also shows that staff can also be the biggest risk for any major corporation.
Can you really be sure a potential employee’s qualifications and references are bona fide? Research has shown that over 80 % of applicants provide false or misleading information on their CV’s!
Inadvertent employment of a person without appropriate qualifications, or a dishonest, disruptive, disloyal or even corrupt individual could have disastrous consequences for your corporate image, client/customer relationships, and could result in litigious proceedings.
Application of a vetting process will provide a level of quality assurance to your recruitment process, and ensure individuals have the requisite skills and qualifications for the role, with a number of other potential benefits, which include:-
- Satisfying corporate responsibility in respect of duty of care to current staff and associates
- Reduce issues of petty theft and fraud
- Reduce staff training
- Avoid costly fines, e.g. for employing illegal workers contrary to the Asylum and Immigration Act
- Comply with legislation e.g. Criminal Record Bureau checks
- Safeguard organisational image and brand
- Protect stakeholders’ interests
- Reduce staff turnover and employment costs
Our vetting process, as a minimum standard, is compliant with British Standard 7858, which includes the following:-
- Full five (5) year address verification
- Employment verification – either 5 or 10 depending on the client’s needs
- Education verification
- Directorship [conflict of interest]
- Credit history [CCJ’s]
- Gap analysis
- Bankruptcy and insolvency
- Public Disclosure in appropriate cases [ CRB checks]
- Personal references where required
IntraOrbis can offer varying levels of vetting, dependent upon the intended role and responsibilities of a candidate, for example a higher level of vetting, with more in-depth checks may be required for more senior positions.
We have the capability to conduct lawful criminal record checks on behalf of our clients, and offer an additional cognitive interview process for the most senior of positions, delivered by our trained experts.
IntraOrbis Personnel
Our staff are fully vetted to industry standard BS 7858, have all passed criminal record checks, and are highly trained and experienced in the delivery high quality screening services.
We have a team of multilingual staff providing a capability to conduct checks on a global basis, which is crucial in the vetting of candidates who have lived, worked, obtained qualifications, or travelled extensively abroad, or rely upon a non-English speaking referee.
